COACH QUOTES
Head coach
Travis McCorkle (60-42-15 record in 6th season at ASU, 100 overall career wins)
On playing against Eastern New Mexico on Friday:
"We had some good opportunities to score against them, but weren't able to until the second overtime. For me, if we are making improvements in our attack we need to see that with more goals this time. Eastern did a very good job of defending against us and created some opportunities on its side. They are going to be ready for us with them playing on their final home stand and they left here not happy with the result of the game. Anytime a team loses in overtime they are always going to be hungry for a result in the next game. We have to match that mindset and play hard against them."
On playing against West Texas A&M on Sunday:
"West Texas A&M presents problems for us by playing great defense. We have to solve that and get some goals to get the result we need. They've got some really good players. They did a really good job minimizing our attack in the first game and we'll have to step it up."
On the possibility of clinching the LSC Championship with two wins this weekend:
"I think the girls know that it is a possibility, but so does everyone else. We've talked with them throughout the year that the target on their backs is going to continue getting bigger when they win games. They have to be able to understand how to deal with it. For us, we just have to continue our business and focus on what we can control. We have to push to get goals and push to get shutouts like we've tried to accomplish throughout the season."
