"We've put a few matches together and I like the direction we are headed, "commented ASU head Coach Chuck Waddington. "I thought the team did well and we got everybody in, and that is a lot of people. I felt like they all did a good job and did what we asked them to do."

"Morgan is super quick laterally," added Waddington. "She did a nice job of closing the block, seeing what is happening, reading what is happening and I thought she did exceptionally well today"

Recording her sixth consecutive double –figure match, Mallory Blauser led ASU with 16 kills for the match. She also recorded an outstanding .553 hitting percentage against ENMU. The senior outside hitter contributed six digs to the defensive efforts.

Also turning in top offensive numbers for the Belles was junior Brianna Sotello. The San Antonio native rounded out the top attackers, firing in seven kills. On the defensive side of the ball, Sotello added a team third eight digs and three total blocks.

Making her fifth start at libero, Mallory Davidson chalked up a team-leading 19 digs. The sophomore also dropped in a service ace to take the second spot on the team.

Blauser kicked things off for the Belles as she fired in a kill for the first point of the match. The Greyhounds immediately responded taking a 9-8 lead over the Belles, but an ENMU error and a monster block from Blauser and Seaton would regain the lead for the Belles. The two teams continued the back-and-forth match with the hounds regain the lead a second time after bring the score to an even 20. Facing the loss of the first set and down 25-26, Seaton and Blauser combined again for a timely block to bring the game back to even. Abbie Lynn followed with a kill and an attack error by ENMU completed the ASU rally and closed out the set in the Belles favor.

Eastern New Mexico came out in the second set firing on all cylinders as it took an early 7-3 lead. It was at this point that Leiyona Young rocketed in a kill that set the Belles off on a 13-2 run to take over the lead. This run saw big swings from Blauser, Seaton and Lynn, with Parker adding a pair of service aces.  The Greyhounds would attempt to rally bring the score to 22-17, but would be unable to regain the lead. A kill from Blauser and Seaton followed by a combination block from the two gave ASU the final three points it needed to take a 2-0 lead into the break.

In the final set, Angelo State continued its momentum with a 10-2 run to start the set.
