SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team defeated Texas A&M-International 78-38 Tuesday afternoon to move to 6-1 on the season.
The Belles were led by Dezirae Hampton, who posted a double double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. She added four assists and a steal on the afternoon. Catara Samuel added 13 points and five rebounds, Maria Delgado had 12 points and six rebounds, and Asia Davis had 11 points and three rebounds to round out the double figure scoring.
De'Anira Moore had a solid game with eight points and 11 rebounds, and Sidney Smith made two three pointers for her six points.
The Belles held TAMUI to 19 percent shooting for the game and outrebounded the Dustdevils 48-32. The Belles also shot 91 percent from the free throw line.
The Belles will be in action again on December 18th as they take on Urbana (Ohio) in the Daytona Hoops Classic.
