Belles Sweep WNMU, Extend Record To 10-0.

SILVER CITY, New Mexico – The No. 18 Angelo State University Belle volleyball team continued to show their prowess on the court as they swept the Western New Mexico Mustangs in Silver City. The Belles extend their conference lead to 10-0 and their overall record to 18-1.
 
In Case You Missed It:
  • With Makenna Hanssen and Meghan Parker back to serve for the Belles, ASU took the early 9-4 lead over the Mustangs.
  • Kills early in the match from Baleigh Allen, Sundara Chinn, and Kailyn Gilbreath, the Blue and Gold would extend their lead over Western New Mexico to 17-11.
  • Hanssen served the final point of set one, but an attack error from WNMU would end the set in favor of the Belles, 25-17.
 
  • Lindsey Ledyard set the momentum for the Blue and Gold in set two, serving seven straight points for the Belles, one being a service ace.
  • Hanssen extended Angelo State's lead to 12-3 with her serving and playing capabilities.
  • Kills from Chinn, Gilbreath, and Makenzie Griffin brought the Belles to a 19-8 lead over the Mustangs.
  • A kill from Tulani Titley ended set two for the Belles, 25-16.
 
 
  • Set three started off slow for both ASU and WNMU, with neither team being able to gain an advantage over the other.
  • With Chinn at the serving line, she led the Belles to a -7 lead over WNMU.
  • Morgan Preston continued to extend ASU's lead to 17-10 with help from Gilbreath and Allen.
  • Meghan Parker served three more points for the Belles, one being a service ace and another being killed by Haley Coulter. The third would be a ball handling error from WNMU.
  • On an attack error from Western New Mexico, ASU would sweep the Mustangs 3-0.
