PORTALES, NM – The Rambelles advanced to 11-1 as they picked up their first conference win against the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds. Angelo State would score 11 runs in 11 hits and also sent three balls deep for homeruns.
Angelo State attacked early, putting up three runs in the top of the first inning by two homeruns.
Taylor Fogle homered to right center to bring in
Taegan Kirk as well.
Karina Rocha would then drive a ball deep for her third homerun of the year. ENMU would then rebound to keep the game close by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first to make the game 3-1
Neither team would score in the second innings, but the Greyhounds would scratch one more run across in the bottom of the third to tie it up at three runs apiece. The game would be the Rambelles' from there on out however, as they would score eight more runs in the next three innings (2-2-4) to end the game early in the sixth inning at a final score of 11-3.
Eight Rambelles had a hit in the game and three of those had two.
Mykayla Stroud finished 1-3 with two RBI and two runs.
Karina Rocha had twos across the board tonight with two ABs, two hits, two runs, two RBI, and two walks.
Hatty Shope also had two hits with an RBI and scored two runs.
Mikayla Corbin would start in the circle for ASU and put in 2.1 innings of work while giving up three runs on four hits. Corbin struck out three and walked one out of the 15 batters that she faced.
Victoria Vasquez (2-1) would come in to relieve Corbin in the second third inning and earned the win of the game and her second of the season.
