EDMOND, Okla. – The Angelo State University women's tennis team dropped its first match of the season to the No. 9 University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos, 4-0.

- The Belles dropped in their doubles matches. Anna Schneemann and partner Virginie Becht were leading their opponent, 4-3, before their match went unfinished. Valentina Gonzalez and partner Ena Ovcina fell in their doubles by a score of 6-2. Maria Delgadillo and Zoe Gubbels fell in a tight match, 6-3, to their opponents.
- Gubbels battled in her match, dropping the first set in a tie breaker, 7-6 (3). She went on to fall in set two by a score of 6-1.
- Ovcina's match went unfinished after tying the match at 1-1. She fell in the first set but battled back to take set two by a score of 6-3 and force a tiebreak set.
- Schneemann fought hard in her match as she fell in set one but came back in set two and tied the set at 6-6 before her match went unfinished.
- Dianela Rodriguez dropped her set by a score of 6-0 but tried to battle back in set two but came up short by a score of 7-5.
- Gonzalez dropped her singles match in a tough 6-4 set one and then by a score of 6-1 in set two.
- Delgadillo rounds out the singles matches for the Belles as she went unfinished as well. Even though she dropped the first set 6-4, she fought back in set two and tied the set 5-5 before her match went unfinished.

Angelo State will continue its road streak as it travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on Mississippi College on Friday, February 21 and Delta State University and Henderson State University in a double header on Saturday, February 22. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
