SAN ANGELO – The third-ranked team in the nation extended their winning streak to seven matches this afternoon with a 3-0 sweep of Texas A&M International inside Stephens Arena, their sixth sweep during their winning streak.
The Belles were dominant in this match, outkilling the opposition 48-29 and nearly doubling the visitors in digs, recording 60 digs to the Dustdevils' 31.
The dominance from the Belles allowed for every single active player on the roster to take part in the match.
Kailyn Gilbreath recorded her seventh double-double of the season with a match-high 12 kills to go along with 21 assists. The Fort Worth native once again fell one stat short of a triple-double, with nine digs, as she was one of three players to take part in all three sets for the Belles.
Elsa Lamphere followed Gilbreath with nine kills of her own, and
Delaney Fuller recorded a team-high 11 digs, the seventh time this season she's notched double-digit digs.
The Belles hit .257 as a team with four players hitting over .400 on the match –
Erin Jones converted her lone attack attempt,
Sophia Berg and
Grace White both buried three kills in four attempts and
Chloee Holden turned ten attack attempts into four kills.
The Belles improve to 13-2 on the season and 6-0 in conference play. They welcome Lubbock Christian, also 6-0 in conference play, into the Junell Center on Wednesday night.
