AUSTIN – The Angelo State volleyball took care of business this afternoon against St. Edward's, downing the Hilltoppers in four sets. The result sees the Belles claim the LSC Regular Season Championship, who will be the top-seed in next week's LSC Tournament; the Belles will also host the tournament, scheduled to take place next Thursday through Saturday.
The match was a tale of two matches, with the first two sets close between the two sides before the Belles put their foot down for the final two sets.
The Belles would claim the opening set 25-23 before dropping the second set 22-25; the hosts would only score 24 points in the final two frames, with the Belles winning 25-15 and 25-9.
The Belles doubled the Hilltoppers hitting percentage for the match, hitting .234 to the hosts .117 on the match.
Delaney Fuller led the Belles with 12 kills and a career-high 24 digs, her seventh double-double of the season and second in as many matches.
Kailyn Gilbreath notched her sixth triple-double of the season and third in a row with ten kills, 23 assists and a season-high 20 digs.
Elsa Lamphere had nine kills while teammates Sophia Berg and Grace White recorded eight and kills, respectively.
Baleigh Allen was dominant at the net for the second-straight match, blocking eight attacks while converting seven kills of her own.
Libero Chloe Patton had 13 digs and Jaedyn Woolley had 20 assists as well as four service aces.
The Belles finish the regular season with a 23-3 record and 16-1 in conference play. The Belles will host next week's conference tournament, scheduled to go from Thursday through Saturday.
