SAN ANGELO, Texas – The top-ranked Angelo State baseball team is set to return to Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium this week as the Rams take on St. Edward's in a three-game series beginning Thursday, Apr. 1.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams won the series against Texas A&M – Kingsville, taking games one and two while the Javelinas avoided the sweep with a win in game three.
Nicholas Novak and
Aaron Walters each tallied five RBIs in the series while
Trent Baker opened the series with a win on the mound to improve to 6-0 on the season.

The Rams hold the slight edge in the all-time series against the Hilltoppers by two games. ASU has already earned one win against St. Edward's this season, winning 12-3 in a nonconference game at home last week.
SCOUTING ST. EDWARD'S:
The Hilltoppers have had a bit of a down year, holding a record of 7-12 overall. SEU ranks fifth in the Lone Star Conference in team ERA at 4.76 with Blake Holub leading the way with an ERA of 1.98 and 50 strikeouts on the season. His ERA is the second lowest in the LSC and he ranks third overall in strikeouts.
At the plate, SEU holds the sixth lowest batting average, hitting .263 as a team and have scored the fourth fewest runs with 119 on the season. Chase Cos leads the Hilltoppers with a .347 batting average and has tallied 25 hits and 15 RBIs this season.
LEADING THE LSC:
Angelo State continues to lead the conference in batting average, hitting .355 collectively while also being the most efficient team in the field, holding a .977 fielding percentage.
Josh Elvir is the top hitter in the conference with a batting average of .421, while
Nick Seginowich leads in RBIs with 26.
