#2 Belle Volleyball Pick Up Pair of Wins at Colorado Premier Tournament

Denver, Colo. - The Belle Volleyball team rebounded from their first loss of the season with a pair of wins on the opening day of the Colorado Premier Tournament, defeating Lynn 3-2 before turning around and sweeping hosts Regis in three sets.

The pair of wins sees the Belles placed in the gold bracket for tomorrow's schedule of matches, facing #17 Wayne State (Neb.) at 12:30 p.m. CDT.

The first set for the Belles' match against Lynn saw the Belles drop a tight first set to the Knights 25-23 as the Knights hit .394 with 17 kills in the set, as opposed to the Belles' 14 kills and .323 hitting percentage.

The Belles recovered to out hit the Knights in three of the final four sets of the match, including holding the Knights to a negative attacking percentage in the fifth and final set.

Kailyn Gilbreath led all players with 24 kills, hitting .340. The senior also added 22 assists and came one dig short of recording a triple-double, with nine digs.

Freshman Jaedyn Woolley assisted 28 times, and Delaney Fuller recorded a team-high 16 digs, while libero Chloe Patton recorded 14 of her own. The Belles also recorded 17 blocks, with Baleigh Allen leading the way with two solo blocks and nine block assists.

Fuller also had four service aces as the Belles recorded nine service aces to the Knights' one.

Game two proved to be slightly smoother sailing for the Belles, winning in three sets against Regis. The Belles were dominant defensively against the Rangers, who only hit .043 for the match. The Belles out blocked their opponents15-4 and out-dug them 46-41.

The Belles hit .317 as a team in match two, with Fuller leading all players with 13 kills, and Woolley adding in 20 assists while Gilbreath recorded 18.

Grace White had a solo block to go along with seven assisted blocks, and Patton recorded 10 digs.

The Belles improve to 6-1 on the season and move into the gold bracket, where they play Wayne State (Neb.). A win over the Wildcats would put the Belles into the tournament's championship match, to be played at 7 p.m. CT tomorrow evening.
