th-ranked Angelo State baseball team returns home this weekend as the Rams take on Lone Star Conference opponent Oklahoma Christian in a four-game series beginning Friday, Feb. 18, at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium.
LAST WEEK:
The Rams earned their first sweep of the season, going 4-0 on the road against UAFS. Ben Elder tossed six innings with only one unearned run to pick up his first win of the season while
Reese Johnson collected eight RBIs while batting .400 on the weekend.

The Rams and Eagles have played one series against each other in program history with ASU taking the three-game sweep. The Rams defeated OCU 9-4 in the last meeting back in 2020 while 2021's series was canceled. ASU also faced OCU in a neutral site game back in 2018, winning 11-8.
SCOUTING OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN:
The Eagles currently hold a 3-5 overall record on the season but have lost their last five straight games. OCU opened the season with three wins over St. Mary's to claim the series but followed that up by losing four straight against Lubbock Christian.
OCU's pitching staff holds the lowest team ERA in the Lone Star at 3.71 through eight games. The Eagles are fourth in strikeouts (65) but have allowed the sixth-most walks with 35. Isaiah Alvarenga leads the Eagles with a 2.25 ERA through 12 innings which is the seventh-lowest amongst all pitchers in the LSC. At the plate, OCU is hitting .285 on the season as is led by Chance Westervelt and Tanner White who are both hitting .333. White has also tallied 11 RBIs which is tied for fifth in the conference.
