SAN ANGELO, Texas – The 17th-ranked Angelo State baseball team split the series against No. 23 Lubbock Christian, winning game four 9-4 after a late comeback on Sunday at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.
With the win, the Rams improve to 15-5 overall and in Lone Star Conference play while Lubbock Christian moves to 13-5 overall, 11-5 LSC.
The Chaps came out to an early lead in the first inning, hitting a solo home run to jump ahead 1-0. They added two more runs in the fourth, also on a home run, to take a 3-0 lead.
ASU left two runs on base in the first inning and the sixth, unable to break through LCU's pitching staff as the Rams continued to look for their first run of the game.

LCU extended their lead in the sixth, scoring on a double to left field, the only run scored not on a home run this game.
The Rams finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh inning. After loading the bases with back-to-back walks and a hit-by-pitch, Justin Harris ripped a shot down the left-field line to bring in two runs on his first collegiate hit. Jackson Hardy followed that up with a two-RBI single to tie the game before Aaron Walters doubled to give ASU a 5-4 lead.
After an intentional walk reloaded the bases, Kamden Kelton hit a bases-clearing double to left-center to give the Rams a 9-4 advantage heading into the eighth.
Jackson Haga closed out the game, pitching three innings with no runs, two hits, and three strikeouts as he picked up his second straight victory to improve to 2-1 on the season.
The Rams will pause from Lone Star action next weekend as they host Drury in a three-game non-conference series beginning Friday, Mar. 11
