Kingsville, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team ended their road regular-season schedule with a 4-3 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville this afternoon. The Belles earned their points early to hold onto the victory despite a few points for the Javelinas after the match had been decided.Â
A quick 6-2 win at line two for
Ayda Guler and
Ramitha Irrinki preceded victories for the Belles at lines one and three to sweep the hosts for the doubles' point.Â
Eva Schwartz doubled the Belles ' lead a little over an hour into singles play, winning 6-1, 6-1 at line four. Guler and
Dianela Rodriguez won in straight sets at lines five and one to clinch the match for the Belles.Â
The win for Rodriguez is her 22
nd of the season, tied for second-most in a single season in program history and only one behind the record held by compatriot
Maria Delgadillo from the 2017-18 season.Â
The Belles are now 15-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play; they close the regular season on Saturday when they host Western New Mexico.Â
