Lakewood, Colo. – The Angelo State volleyball team fell behind early against Colorado Christian on Tuesday night, dropping the first two sets to the Cougars before regrouping and taking the next two to level the match; unfortunately for the Belles, the Cougars claimed the fifth set and the victory on the evening.
The Cougars hit .440 in the first two sets and .526 in the final frame, while the Belles only tallied a .233 hitting percentage on the night.
Sam Rodgers and
Hannah Kinnison led the offense for the Belles with 15 kills each. Rodgers hit .429 while Kinnison hit .387, both only committing three attack errors each.
Laney Dale assisted 29 times, while
Kayla Baer assisted 11 times off the bench.
Rodgers and
Grace White both recorded a solo block and four block assists, while
Marina Sanchez notched two solo blocks and three block assists.
The Belles are now 3-2 on the season and are back in action on Friday when they participate in the Colorado Premier Challenge, where they will face tenth-ranked Northwest Missouri and fourth-ranked MSU Denver.
