Rambelles End Season in Dallas

DALLAS, Texas - Friday evening, the Angelo State women's soccer team was eliminated from the Lone Star Conference tournament in the semifinal round, losing 3-0 to St. Mary's in Dallas, Texas.

The Rambelles moved to (9-7-4) after the loss that saw the Rattlers (11-4-5) advance to the Lone Star Conference championship vs. Dallas Baptist on Sunday, November 12th.

The Rambelles left the gates with their foot on the gas pedal, recording the game's first four shots, with three of them being saved by the Rattler's goalkeeper, Rebecca Difronzo.

St. Mary's would record the next six shots of the game, resulting in a 24th-minute Penalty Kick by Shelby Paniagua that gave the Rattlers a 1-0 lead with about 20 minutes remaining in the first half.

Ten minutes later, after the first goal, the Rattlers broke free where Shelby Paniagua found Alexis Truitt on the right side of the box to put St.Mary's up 2-0 going into the break.

The Rambelles best chance of the first half came from Sanai Stewart, where she hit one from the left flank, resulting in a diving stop by the Rattler's goalkeeper, Rebecca Difronzo.

Two minutes into the second half, the Rattlers were able to put the game out of reach with another Alexis Truitt goal, which was helped by nice build-up play from Barbara Smith.
