SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team opened Lone Star Conference action on Wednesday night inside the Junell Center – Stephens Arena with a sweep of Western New Mexico. The Rambelles won the first set 25-19 before claiming sets two and three 25-19 and 25-9.
It was a pair of freshmen making their LSC debuts –
Madi Parrish and
Hannah Spencer – that, along with senior
Hannah Kinnison, led the Belles attack on the night, with the hosts doubling the Mustangs' kills (50 to 25) and hit .321 for the match.
Defensively, the Belles held the Mustangs to a .120 hitting percentage, and the Belles out-dug WNMU 56-40.
Parrish led all players with 13 kills, a new career-high for the Saginaw native, while the Hannahs had ten kills each. Parrish hit .478 for the match, Kinnison hit .348, and Spencer led all players with a .625 hitting percentage. Spencer did not commit an attacking error in 16 attempts.
Laney Dale led all players with 21 assists, nearly out-assisting the Mustangs on her own.
Alli Kirkpatrick added 17 assists off the bench.

Caleigh Enax led all players with 17 digs, and
Ireland Ferguson recorded eight digs to go along with four service aces.
The win sees the Rambelles improve to 11-2 on the season and 1-0 in LSC play. They continue LSC play this weekend when they travel to Odessa to take on UT Permian Basin on Saturday afternoon.
