SAN ANGELO, Texas - After an efficient afternoon shooting the basketball, the Angelo State women's basketball team defeated St. Edward's 76-68 Saturday afternoon inside the Junell Center - Stephens Arena.

The Rambelles improve to 15-6 overall on the season and move to 9-3 in Lone Star Conference action. The Hilltoppers drop to 8-11 on the season and 4-8 in LSC Play.

40 MINUTE RUNDOWN
- Madeline Stephens put the Rambelles up early, scoring the game's first two points at the 9:44 marker.
- Sawyer Lloyd hit a triple with 2:54 before the first quarter ended to put the Rambelles ahead by four, 14-10.
- A triple from Landry Morrow would give the Rambelles a 17-12 lead going into the second quarter of action.
- The Hilltoppers would score five straight points to tie the game 17-17 with 5:52 remaining.
- After much back and forth, a layup by Lloyd would give the Rambelles a 34-28 lead with 1:17 remaining in the half.Â

- Stephens led all scorers with 21 points on 9-15 shooting and had a season-high 14 rebounds and four assists as well.
- Lloyd would be the other Rambelle notching a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, four steals, and one block.
- Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant would have 14 points and six rebounds the game after her career night.
- The Rambelles shot 47.5 percent (28-59) from the field, 22 percent (5-22) from behind the arc, and a season-high 88 percent (15-17) from the field.
