Greenwood, Ind. – Four members from the Angelo State volleyball team –
Caleigh Enax,
Adeline Ortman,
Madi Parrish, and
Evelyn Torres – were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced this morning.
This is Enax and Ortman's third time being named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, the second time for Torres and the first for Parrish.
Enax, a senior from Haslet, is majoring in Exercise Science at Angelo State. She was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the AVCA and was the Libero of the Year in the LSC. She finishes her Angelo State career with 1,633 career digs, which ranks third in the program's history. Her 658 digs are the second-most in a single season in program history, and she capped off her career with a personal-best 39 digs in the Belles' semifinal match against San Francisco State.
Ortman, a graduate student from Rhome, is pursuing her MBA at Angelo State after earning an undergraduate degree in Management. Ortman, the LSC Academic Player of the Year, has a 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career. She averaged 11.53 assists per set as she helped the Belles attack hit .244 on the season. Ortman was also named a First Team All-American by the AVCA, the first Belle to do so since Kailyn Gilbreath in 2021. She finishes her career with 2,978 career assists and 109 service aces.
Torres, a graduate student from Fort Worth, is pursuing her master's degree in Global Security Systems after receiving her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Angelo State. The lone Belle to be named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team, Torres had 465 kills and 517 points this season. The AVCA Third Team All-American hit .235 on the season and was second in digs with 355. She wraps up her career with 1,243 career kills and 816 career digs.
Parrish, a sophomore from Saginaw, is majoring in Business at Angelo State. The LSC Tournament MVP recorded 498 kills and 551 points on the season, both of which are the fifth most in a single season in ASU history. Her attack percentage rose 46 points from her freshman season as she was named a Second Team All-American by the AVCA. She has 746 career kills and 517 career digs in her first two collegiate seasons.
To qualify for the Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must be a sophomore academically and athletically and have a 3.50 cumulative GPA. They must have also played in 90 percent of the school's matches or started in 66 percent.
All four will move onto the Academic All-American ballot, and the Academic All-American teams will be announced on January 14
th.
