Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State softball team fell 5-2 to Oklahoma Christian in the opening round of the NCAA South Central regional this evening at Schaeffer Park on the campus of West Texas A&M.
The Rambelles opened the scoring in the second inning.
Keilei Garcia led the frame off with a single before moving over to second on a sacrifice bunt.
Lauren De La Cruz unleashed her third home run of the season to give the Rambelles a 2-0 lead. All three of De La Cruz's home runs this season have come at Schaeffer Park.
The Eagles responded by scoring once in the fourth inning and twice in both the fifth and sixth innings to grab a 5-2 lead.
Cheyenne Floyd got the start in the circle, allowing eight hits and six walks in five innings of work.

The Rambelles are 37-17 on the season; they play top seed West Texas A&M tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in an elimination game.
