Wichita Falls, Texas – The Angelo State volleyball team opened Lone Star Conference play with a sweep of Midwestern State on Friday evening inside D.L. Ligon Coliseum, taking the three sets 25-15, 25-23, and 25-18.
The Rambelles dominated offensively, hitting .336 for the match, their second straight match above the .300 mark. As a result, they outkilled the Mustangs 53-33.
The attacking duo of
Evelyn Torres and
Madi Parrish combined for 32 kills and a .324 hitting percentage. Torres led all players with 16 kills and hit .500, as she only committed two attack errors.
Parrish had 15 kills and led all players with three service aces.
Demi Carter had eight kills, and
Hannah Spencer had six kills on eight attempts for a .750 attack percentage.
Setter
Adeline Ortman assisted 43 times, with an average of 14.33 assists per set. She recorded a double-double, chipping in 13 digs.
The Belles had 52 assists as a team, tied for the third-most assists in a three-set match in program history.
Libero
Caleigh Enax led all players with 24 digs, her fifth match with 20 or more digs this season, as she paved the way for the Belles to record 60 digs. Enax's 24 digs are tied for the fourth-most digs in a three-set match in program history.
The Belles improve to 11-1 on the season and 1-0 in LSC play; they extend their winning streak to ten matches. The Belles close out the weekend tomorrow afternoon in Denton against Texas Woman's, who are coming off a four-set win over Lubbock Christian.
