Head Coach Jason Potthoff looks to start his third spring season strong after making it to the round of 16 last year for the first time in school history. Belles tennis starts this season ranked 16th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason poll.

The Belles return their No.1 doubles teams from last year, Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz, who come into this season ranked third in the nation. The pairing is coming off a season where they went 18-5 overall.

The Belles return five players from last year's roster led by Eva Schwartz, who is returning for her fifth year. Schwartz looks to lead the Belles back to the National Tournament as the team's
leader playing at the No.1 Singles and No.1 Doubles positions. Last season, Schwartz finished with a 12-9 singles record and finished with an 18-5 doubles record.

The Belles bring four freshmen into the fold for this season: Elise Gillis from Zottegem, Belgium, Mary-June Quinn from Perth, Australia, Benedetta Raggiotti from Perugia, Italy, and Margaux Rene from Soisy-Sur-Siene, France.

The pairing of Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz went to the finals of the ITA Cup in doubles play. On the road to the final, the pair won their first match over Washburn, 6-4,1-6,11-9, to advance to the semifinal round. In the semifinal round, the Belles won their match over IUP, 6-3,3-6,10-7 to advance to the final where they ended up falling short in a three-set thriller.

At the Midwestern Invitational, the last team event of the fall schedule in October, the Belles picked up 18 victories. Elise Gillis would make it to the third-fourth place match in Flight B where she would place third in her flight due to her opponent withdrawing.

Raggiotti defeated Collin CC, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the semifinals, where she would take on Ouachita Baptist winning 6-2, 6-4. In the finals, Raggiotti would fall 2-6, 4-6 to place second in her flight.

Ivet Stancheva has won six consecutive matches coming into the Seward County match.

In doubles play of the Midwestern State Invitational the Angelo State women's tennis team went 8-1. The pairings were No.1 Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz, No.2 Jessica Li and Elise Gillis, and No.3 Ivet Stancheva and Benedetta Raggiotti.

The Belles start off their spring season against Seward County for the first time in program history, and it will be the only second matchup between the two teams. When the Blue and Gold face off against Collin County on Feb.2nd it will be the first matchup between the two teams in program history.
