The only negative in the match for the Belles came in the first set when the Javelinas jumped out to a 6-2 advantage to start the match. ASU calmed down and went on a rally to retake the set-lead and cruise the rest of the day.

"We were in system for most of the match and did a great job of handling the ball," ASU head coach Chuck Waddington said. "We stayed low error and our middles did a great job in transition. We have been working on our middle transition and we did a nice job of scoring from there today."

"They have two outsides who are very athletic and we needed to have a good block going," Waddington said. "We made the adjustments after the start of the first set and kept them off balance the rest of the way."
