SAN ANGELO – The No. 24 Angelo State softball team will host No. 4 Texas Woman's for a Lone Star Conference three-game series starting on Friday at 6 p.m. at Mayer Field.
The Rambelles moved to 17-7 on the year after a three game sweep of Texas A&M-International. ASU has won eight out of its last 10 games and have a 9-3 record at Mayer Field this season. The three-game series will conclude on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
ASU took two of three from Tarleton State to open up conference play. The Rambelles lost the opening game of that series but since that game have outscored opponents 64-18 in five-straight wins. Angelo State is leading the conference in runs (202), hits (229), doubles (44), RBIs (184) and on-base percentage (.450).
Morgan Spearman is the tops in the conference with a .535 average, 32 runs scored, 38 hits, 10 doubles and a .615 on-base percentage. She went six-for-nine (.667) against Texas A&M-Kingsville with two doubles, one home run and eight RBIs. The Kennedale native leads the Belles with 16 walks and reached base safely in 17 consecutive games.
Darian Dunn added to her league leading home run total with a home run in each game of the series against Texas A&M-International. The Frisco native has 10 home runs now on the season and is the LSC leader with 45 RBIs on the season. The sophomore has a .947 slugging percentage and has drew 10 walks this season.
Micherie Koria is hitting .441 on the season after going a perfect four-for-four with five runs scored and five RBIs earlier this week. The junior is leading the Rambelles and the LSC with 18 stolen bases. She has five doubles on the year and a .538 on-base percentage which is second among starters.
Rachel Moore is fourth on the team with a .433 average. The junior has seven doubles and five home runs with 21 RBI. She is third on the team in slugging at .761. The Katy native currently has a 13 game hitting streak.
Ambra Hill has scored 15 runs this season and is hitting a season best .311.
Kenedy Urbany hit her third home run of the season and picked up her ninth win in the circle. The freshman is hitting .368 on the season with 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored. Urbany has a 3.38 ERA and 39 strikeouts on the season.
Sandra Serna had one of the best games of her career on Wednesday. She limited Texas A&M-International to just three hits and struck out six in five innings of work. It is her third shutout
of the year for the Albuquerque, N.M., native. She lowered her earned-run average to 3.29. Â
Mary Kate McKay picked up her second win of the season on Tuesday. The Madill, Okla., native held the Dustdevils to six hits and only a .194 batting average.
Texas Woman's enters the series on a 10-game winning streak and are 17-3 overall. The Pioneers swept Texas A&M-Kingsville to open conference play.

The Pioneers are hitting .359 as a team and have a team ERA of 1.92.
Kendra Sancet is leading the Pioneers with a .462 average. She has eight home runs, 19 runs scored and 31 RBis. Sarah Wiitenburg (.444) and Bailey Vrazel (.414) are both hitting over .400 while Vrazel is a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen bases.
Brandie Lander is the ace of the staff as she is a perfect 13-0 on the season with a 1.25 earned-run average. She is the conference leader in both ERA and wins while also leading in complete games (11).
The Rambelles hold a 35-9 all-time advantage in the series and have lost the last two matchups.
