SAN ANGELO – The No. 12 Belle volleyball team hits the road this weekend to continue its Lone Star Conference slate with Midwestern State on Friday October 7 at 5 p.m. and Cameron on Saturday, October 8 at 2 p.m.

After adding another win to its record last Saturday against Texas A&M Kingsville, the Belles improved to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in LSC play. The ASU offense will enter this weekend's matchups leading the LSC with a .261 attack percentage. The team's defense has also held its opponents to a conference low .144 attacking percentage.

The .500 Mustangs are currently sitting at 8-8, 3-4 LSC on the season and will be looking to build off their last sweep over Southern Nazarene. The Belles dominate the all-time record versus Midwestern State, 30-9. ASU also came away with a pair of sweeps over the Mustangs during the 2015 season.

With a 2-13, 0-7 LSC record the Cameron Aggies we swept both times by the Belles in 2015. CU will be seeking to break its seven match losing streak on Saturday. ASU leads its all-time matchup with Cameron, 29-11.

The ASU attack was once again led by the trio of Mallory Blauser, Brianna Sotello and Abbie Lynn. Blauser is fresh off a 16-kill performance against Texas A&M-Kingsville that averaged her 4.00 kills per set. The senior team leader also recorded her seventh double-double as she tallied a career-high 17 digs against the Javelinas. Sotello followed with a 13 kill, 15 dig showing which also marked her seventh double-double for 2016. The junior also added four total blocks to her numbers for the match. Rounding out the group, Lynn checked in with nine kills and a .241 clip for the match.

Lynn played a major offensive role in the Belles victory over Texas A&M –Kingsville last week. The right side hitter not only helped seal the deal on Saturday's game making an extraordinary play to set up the match point against the Javelinas, but also recorded nine total kills averaging 2.25 kills per set. This also allowed the junior from Amarillo to record a .241 clip for the match.

Anchoring the defense for the Belles will be Morgan Seaton, Mallory Davidson and Leiyona Young. Seaton leads the Belles with 40 total blocks on the season. She has recorded six matches this season with at least three blocks. Starting at libero for the first time in her career, Davidson chalked up a career high 24 digs against the Javelinas. This averaged the sophomore 6.00 digs per set and marked her fifth double-digit dig game. She is also third on the team with 13 aces from the service line. Young patrolled the net as she co-led the team with a four block performance against the hogs. The junior is second on the team with 35 total blocks in 2016.

Setting up the ASU attack was freshman Meghan Parker, who continued to turn in excellent number this week in the Belles only match. The freshman racked up 42 assist against Texas A&M –Kingsville which averaged her 10.50 assist per set for the week. Parker continues to sit within the national top 10 and leads the LSC in total assists (649) and assist per set (11.80) on the year. The San Antonio native also added an ace and seven digs to her weekly total.

Adding depth to the Belles lineup will be Tulani Titley, Brooke Robertson and Micheala Sifuentes. Titley has provided solid offensive and defensive play as she has now climbed to fifth on the team in both kills (50) and total blocks (26). In the Belles last matchup, the freshman recorded a team second two blocks and recorded at least four kills in six matches this season. Robertson, who is a defensive specialist, has recorded five matches with double-figure digs. Finally, Sifuentes is third on the total digs list for ASU with 159 on the season.  The sophomore tallied 11 digs against the Javelinas which placed fourth on the team for the match.
