SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team returns to Mayer Field for a doubleheader with UTPB on Tuesday, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The Rambelles are 27-16 on the season and swept a doubleheader from Texas A&M International on the road. ASU is 6-2 in its last games and hitting .330 as a season. Angelo State holds a 3.27 team ERA on the season and a .972 fielding percentage which is No. 14 nationally. ASU is No. 6 nationally in on base percentage at .432 and No. 20 in scoring at 6.53 runs per game.
UTPB enters with an 11-33 overall record this season. The Falcons are hitting .284 as a team and has a 6.16 ERA. Zoe Murillo is the UTPB's best hitter with a .418 average while RustiAnne Spings is 2-4 on the season with a 4.92 ERA in the circle.
Brandy Marlett added her name to the ASU record books with her second career no-hitter against Texas A&M International. She joins former ace Claudia Lopez as the only other pitcher in ASU history with two no-hitters in their career. Marlett went 2-0 last week and only allowed three hits to TAMUI. She improves to 12-7 on the season with a 2.90 ERA. She has thrown 11 complete games and struck out 111 batters this season.
Kenedy Urbany has the team's best average at .393 on the season. She leads the team in hits (55), doubles (13), RBIs (41), runs scored (40), home runs (7) and slugging percentage (.650). She has drawn 23 walks and is third on the team with a .494 on base percentage. The junior is also 9-4 on the season in the circle with a 3.07 ERA. She has struck out 59 batters in 20 appearances.
Bailey Wallace, the No. 4 hardest batter to strikeout nationally, is hitting .392 on the season. She has recorded 51 hits and 12 doubles. The freshman has scored 40 runs and driven in 32 RBIs. She leads the LSC and is No. 4 nationally in hit-by-pitches with 20 on the season. The Rockwall native has also drawn 15 walks and stole nine bases on the season.
Alexis Evans has a .361 average with 43 hits on the season. She leads the team with 29 walks. The Yuma, Arizona native has five doubles, two home runs and scored 29 runs on the season. She is fifth on the team with 27 RBIs and third with a .490 on base average. She had her 38 game reach base safely stream snapped but has the longest streak on the team.
Madison Greenwell is hitting .333 on the team with 51 hits. She has eight doubles and tied for a team high with two triples. She has scored the third most runs with 37 and driven in 20 on the season. The sophomore has recorded a season high 20 walks and stole a team high 14 bases.
Brooke Mangold is also hitting .333 on the season with 11 hits on the season. The sophomore has scored 11 runs while stealing eight bases. She has a .450 on base percentage and drawn six walks on the season.
Taegan Kirk has a .323 average on the season with 42 hits. She has the third most doubles with nine and third most RBIs with 34 on the season. The Lubbock native has scored 21 runs and blasted two home runs. She has walked 11 times on the season and is second on the team with eight multiple RBI games.
Lanie Robinson has been surging lately improving her average to .319 on the season. She has  30 hits and on a current nine game hit streak and 11 game reach base safely streak. The senior recorded the game-winning RBI with a sacrifice fly against Texas A&M International. She has scored 20 runs and driven in 19 runs this season. The Hitchcock native also has drawn 11 walks and recorded five doubles.
Becky Wilhelm recorded her third home run of the season against Texas A&M International. The freshman is hitting .318 this season with 28 hits and six doubles. She has scored 11 runs and is fourth on the team 29 RBIs. The Round Rock native is slugging .489 on the season and has drawn 16 walks.
Ambra Hill has a .314 average with 22 hits. The senior has scored 23 runs while driving in 12 on the season. She has one doubles and two triples this season and has drawn 19 walks. She is second on the team with 13 stolen bases.
Kelly Johnson has started 25 games this season and holds a .296 average. The junior has 24 hits, four doubles and two triples. She has scored 13 runs and drawn nine walks.
Morgan Hill is 5-5 on the season in the circle with a 4.12 ERA. She has helped at the plate with a .438 average with 14 hits. The Salado native has recorded three doubles, one triple and one home run. She has scored 12 runs and driven in seven on the season. The sophomore has a .688 slugging percentage and a .526 on base percentage.
