SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's volleyball team defeated UT Permian Basin 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-14) Saturday afternoon to remain unbeaten at home and move to 16-4 (9-1 Lone Star Conference) this season.
The match started off back and forth before the Belles went on a 15-3 run to pull well ahead and take the set 25-18.
After spotting UT Permian Basin a 4-0 lead in the second set, the Belles slowly crept back into the set and eventually pulled away to win 25-20.
The third set was absolute domination by the Belles as they hit .375 and held UT Permian Basin to a hitting percentage of .000.
For the match, the Belles hit .304 and held UT Permian Basin to a hitting percentage of .082, showcasing the defense that has been first place in the conference all year long.
Offensively, the Belles were led by Anna Graham, who posted 11 kills on a .421 hitting percentage. Sundara Chinn was not far behind, posting a double double with 10 kills and 11 digs on a .409 hitting percentage. Audrey Fragniere also contributed nine kills on the afternoon.
Defensively, Meghan Parker, Chloe Robinson, and Eadara Files combined for 26 digs to lead the way for the Belles. Baleigh Allen led the team in blocks with three, and also contributed 6 kills on a .417 hitting percentage.
The Belles will be in action next on the road against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
