#6 Belle Volleyball Recovers from Dropping First Set to Down Rattlers

San Antonio – The Belles got off to slow start on their final road trip of the regular season, dropping the first set in their second-straight match; but much like in their match against Eastern New Mexico last Saturday, the Belles recovered and took care of business, defeating St. Mary's in four sets.

After dropping the first set 25-20, the Belles would win the next three sets 25-12, 25-23 and 25-22.

The Belles were out-hit by the hosts in the first set and held the Rattlers to a negative hitting percentage in the second set in response.

The third set proved to be the most pivotal towards the result of the match, with the Rattlers holding a 22-20 lead; but the Belles scored five of the final six points in the set to take a 2-1 set lead.

Grace White led all players with a season-high 14 kills for the senior middle. She did not commit an attack error, hitting a team-high .467. Over her last six matches, the Helotes native has recorded 53 kills to only two attack errors, good enough for a .530 attack percentage.

Kailyn Gilbreath notched her fifth triple-double of the season with 11 kills, 29 assists and 19 digs, also hitting .233 for the match.

Teammates Delaney Fuller and Jaedyn Woolley recorded double-doubles. Fuller bagged her sixth double-double of the season with 11 kills to pair with 17 digs, and Woolley has her third double-double with 20 assists and 10 digs off the bench for the Belles.

Defensively, Chloe Patton had a match-high 25 digs and Makenna Hanssen added in 11 digs. Senior middle blocker Baleigh Allen had nine blocks on the match, the second-highest total for the Katy native in a match this season.

The Belles improve to 22-3 overall and 15-1 in conference play. They close out their regular season tomorrow against St. Edward's with a chance to clinch the one-seed in next week's LSC Tournament.
