SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State Rambelle softball team plays two more doubleheaders this weekend as both the Texas A&M International Dustdevils and the No. 17 Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas come to San Angelo. ASU will play the Dustdevils on Friday, April 16 in a doubleheader at 4 & 6:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 17 at 12 p.m. in a non-conference game, and the Javelinas in a doubleheader on Sunday, April 18 at 1 and 3:30 p.m.

Scouting the Texas A&M International Dustdevils:
The Dustdevils are currently 20-12 on the season overall with a conference record of 13-7 after dropping their last doubleheader to the No. 5 UT Tyler Patriots in two run ruled games, 1-9 and 0-19. The Dustdevils are currently on offense by senior Shelby Edwards, who is batting with a batting average of .393 and has registered 35 hits, seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, 17 RBI and has scored 14 runs for the Dustdevils this season. TAMIU is also led by sophomore Erika Cortez from within the circle for the Dustdevils as she is ranked tenth in the conference in ERA with a 2.65. Cortez has thrown for 12 complete games, throwing 133 strikeouts with an opposing batting average of .214.
Scouting the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas:
The Javelinas are currently 22-9 with a 14-6 conference record on the season after splitting their last home series against the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions. The Lions won the first game 1-0, while the Javelinas won game two in the 12
th inning, 3-2. TAMUK returns one of their big hitters in sophomore, Matisen Onofrei. Onofrei hit a .378 batting average last season after registering 28 hits, five doubles, one triple, six homeruns, 21 RBI, and four stolen bases off of six attempts and scoring 17 runs for the Javelinas before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sophomore is currently batting with a .398 and has registered 35 hits, eight doubles, six home runs, 25 RBI, and has stolen one base this season, scoring 15 runs for the Javelinas so far.
Scouting the Rambelles:
- Ashlyn Lerma continues to lead the Belles offensively as the sophomore has registered a .459 batting average, which is currently ranked fourth in the conference, 34 hits, three doubles, two triples, five RBI, 12 stolen bases off of 17 attempts, a .551 on-base percentage which is fifth in the conference, and has scored 26 runs for Angelo State.
- Courtney Barnhill follows closely behind Lerma on offense with a .402 batting average, registering 41 hits and ranking ninth in the conference, 14 doubles and leads the conference, one triple, four home runs, 31 RBI and ranks eighth in the conference, 13 stolen bases off of 14 attempts, and has scored 33 runs this season, ranking sixth in the conference.
- Keilei Garcia has found her hot streak as she has registered a .371 batting average, and has registered 23 hits, four doubles, six home runs, 29 RBI, and has scored 18 runs for the Rambelles.
- Makayla Corbin continues to lead from within the circle for Angelo State, throwing a 2.90 ERA and ranking 14th in the conference. Corbin has thrown five complete games, throwing 44 strikeouts in 72.1 innings pitched and facing batters with a .239 opposing batting average, which is ranked 12th in the conference.
