RICHARDSON, Texas – The 16
th-ranked Angelo State football tallied 30 Lone Star Conference postseason honors, highlighted by quarterback
Braeden Fuller, who was named the J.W. Rollins Offensive Player of the Year.
Fuller, a junior kinesiology major from Floresville, Texas, led the conference in passing yards (2,180) and passing touchdowns (18), adding 648 yards on the ground and 10 rushing scores. He was named the LSC Player of the Week five times this season and accounted for seven touchdowns last week to help the Rams to an undefeated conference season and title. Fuller is the first to win the award for the Rams since Kyle Washington back in 2015.
Andrew Pitts, was named the LSC Defensive Back of the Year for the second time in his career after finishing the season with six interceptions, eight pass breakups, and 38 tackles. Earlier this season, he set the ASU career record for interceptions and now how 22 total for his career.
Earning Defensive Lineman of the Year was
Owen Seaver, a senior business administration major, who collected 36 tackles on the season with 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Eric Rascoe, a senior business science data analytics major, was selected as Co-Linebacker of the Year. Now a three-time LSC 1
st-Team All-Conference recipient, Rascoe tallied 55 tackles on the year with 6.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, and three interceptions.
For the third time since taking over the program in 2019, Head Coach
Jeff Girsch was named the Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Rams to a second conference championship in three seasons. Girsch holds a .778 winning percentage at ASU and is currently the winningest coach in program history.
Jordan McKinney and Brad Larson, who were both selected to the All-LSC 1
st-Team lists, were also named Academic All-Conference. McKinney, majoring in health professions, recorded the second most tackles for the Rams with 67 and added six tackles for loss and one interception. Larson, majoring in management, converted 10 field goals on the year, ranking third in the LSC. He was also a perfect 42-pf-42 on PATs during the regular season.
The Rams collected 24 All-Conference honors including 14 1
st-Team All-Conference selections.
