SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team will play Texas Woman's at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Denton and will try to keep its four-game win streak alive.
The Belles (11-12, 8-9) are on a three-game winning streak for the first time since January of 2012. The last time Angelo State has won four-straight game was in February of 2011. The Belles will try to win two-straight road games for the first time since December.
The last three wins have seen the Belles statistically play to their season average. The points per game (59.3), shooting percentage (.408), assists (10.0) are all within one of the team's season average. The Belles are out rebounding teams by six more a game during the win streak compared to its season average of 40.6.
ASU's defense has been better holding the three teams to 49.3 points per game and limiting teams to 27-percent shooting from the field.
Lauren Holt has stepped her game up averaging 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds to lead the Belles. She was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Morgan Youngblood has also been a key player scoring 11 points per game and grabbing 6 rebounds. She has nine assists through the last three games to lead ASU.
The last game between Angelo State and Texas Woman's was one of the worse for the Belles. Angelo State shot a season low 26.7 percent from the field and only scored 39 points. The 39 points in a game is tied for the lowest output of the season.
