SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team (5-1) will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season as they take on Texas A&M-International Tuesday at noon.

Senior guard Marquita Daniels continues to lead the team both offensively and defensively in several categories. She averages 16.2 points per game and has made 35 shots from the field, and she averages four assists and more than four steals per contest. Additionally, she is third on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.2 per game.

Junior center De'Anira Moore was excellent this past week, posting two double doubles. She leads the team with a .522 shooting percentage and averages 15.3 points per game. She also averages 8.5 rebounds per contest to lead the team.

Dezirae Hampton also averages double figures as she scores 13.8 points per game. She also leads the team with 13 three pointers and a .371 mark from distance. Additionally, she is second on the team in total steals with 16.

Maria Delgado, Asia Davis, and Catara Samuel have also been strong contributors this season. Delgado is averaging 9.2 points per contest while shooting .357 from three point range. She also averages 7.3 rebounds per game, good for second on the team. Davis is averaging seven points and 2.7 rebounds per game. She is second on the team in assists with 12 and leads the team in free throw shooting with a mark of .818. Samuel is averaging five points and 2.5 rebounds per game and has been first off the bench in nearly every game this season.
