- The Rambelles went 2-0 last week, defeating West Texas A&M 60-53 and Lubbock Christian 53-51 behind a game-winner from Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant.
- The Rambelles have now won seven games in a row, their longest winning streak since the 2018-19 season (eight games).
- McGhee-Pleasant leads the Rambelles in scoring, her 16.3 points per game currently ranks third most in the Lone Star Conference.
- Madeline Stephens and Sawyer Lloyd also rank top 10 in the LSC averaging 14.5 and 14.2 points per game respectively.
- The Rambelles have made rebounding a staple in the way they play, leading the conference averaging 44.6 boards per game.
- McGhee-Pleasant (3rd), Stephens (6th), and Lloyd (7th) each rank in the top 10 in rebounding individually, averaging 8.5, 8.0, and 7.9 boards per game.
- The trio also all rank top six in field goal percentage, led by Stephens' .559, the second-best mark in the LSC.
- Lloyd also ranks second in the assist's category, averaging 5.1 per game, her 2.2 assist-turnover ratio is the best mark in the conference.
- Lloyd and McGhee-Pleasant also both rank top 10 in defensive categories, Lloyd is first in steals, averaging 3.1 per game and McGhee-Pleasant is seventh in blocks, averaging 1.2 per contest.
- The Rambelles are averaging 70.3 points per game, shooting 41.1 percent from the field, 26.7 percent from three, and 69.7 percent from the free throw line.
- The 70.3 points per contest is the fifth best mark in the LSC, on the defensive end, the Rambelles hold opponents to 61.6 points a game (10th in the LSC).
- Lloyd and McGhee-Pleasant were named the LSC defensive and offensive players of the week after the Rambelles downed West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian. This is Lloyds third consecutive defensive player of the week and her fifth overall.
- Lloyd was recognized with her fourth player of the week honor after filling up the stat sheets against Eastern and Western New Mexico. She averaged 15 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals, being named the defensive player of the week for the third time.
- Lloyd earned her third LSC player of the week honor after wins over UTPB and Schreiner before the winter break. This included a contest with a career high 17 rebounds (vs UTPB) followed up by a season high six steal game against Schreiner.
- Stephens and Lloyd were named the Lone Star Conference offensive and defensive players of the week following their efforts in the wins over TAMUK, TAMIU in week four.
- Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant scored 21 points and pulled in eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week in the third week of the season.
- Payton Brown had a 13-point, six rebound, and three steal game that saw her honored as the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week after the Rambelles upset win over Eckerd College in week three.
- Lloyd averaged 22 points and eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference offensive player of the week in week one.
ANGELO STATE vs MIDWESTERN STATE
- The Mustangs come to town after defeating Eastern New Mexico in their previous game to snap a three-game losing skid.
- MSU is 4-11 on the season and 2-7 in LSC action with wins over Eastern and St. Mary's in overtime.
- The Rambelles lead the all-time series 38-33, the teams have split the previous four contests 2-2.
- The Mustangs struggle defensively, giving up a league worst 75 points per game. Offensively, MSU ranks sixth, scoring 69.6 points per game.
- Dyamon Griggs and Natalie Stice led the Mustangs offense, averaging 12.7 and 12.1 points per game respectively.
- Mandy Withey cleans up the boards, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, the fourth best average in the LSC.
ANGELO STATE vs CAMERON
- The Aggies also put the breaks on a three-game losing streak in their most recent contest, a victory over Western New Mexico, 54-43.
- Cameron will play UT Permian basin before heading to the Junell Center, but enter the week 7-8 overall and 4-5 in the LSC.
- All-time, the Rambelles hold a 32-23 advantage and have won nine of the last 10 meetings between the two sides.
- The Aggie offense runs through Alena Wilson, the junior forward scores 12.4 points per game and grabs 7.5 boards, both team highs.
- Korie Allensworth also scores in double figures and can light it up from the outside, shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc this season.
