Rambelles Fall to Adams State 59-57

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's basketball team fell short in the fourth quarter, losing 59-57, to Adams State in the Junell Center - Stephens Arena Thursday Afternoon.
 
The Rambelles fall to 2-1 overall with the loss, while the Grizzlies improve to 4-3 with the victory.
 
40 Minute Rundown
  • Madi Lumsden opened the scoring in the contest at the 8:57 marker of the first quarter.
  • Kiiyani Anitielu would score four points in the last minute of the first quarter to give Adams State a 17-12 lead going into the second quarter.
  • Majik Esquivel opened the second quarter with a three to bring the Grizzlies lead within two with 8:23 remaining in the second quarter. 
  • After a back-and-forth five-minutes a layup from Madeline Stephens would bring the Grizzlies lead to 22-21 with 3:47 remaining until halftime. 
  • Going into halftime the Grizzlies lead 33-27.
  • With 3:32 reaming in the third quarter, Williams and Stephens would hit back-to-back baskets, bringing the Grizzlies lead to 43-42, the closest deficit of the quarter for the Rambelles.
  • Madeline Stephens tied the game 50-50 with 8:32 remaining after catching a full-court pass from Keniah Williams.
  • Madeline Stephens gave the Rambelles a 54-52 lead with 4:25 remaining, their first lead since the beginning of the game.
